New Hampshire FastRoads is an organization created through the work of two dedicated community committees: the eight-town rural area of the Upper Valley and the Keene Broadband Committee. During the past several years there have been many starts and stops in facilitating the expansion of broadband in rural New Hampshire, some contributing to temporary solutions and others more effective over the long haul.

The New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority funded a marketing study, business plan, and pro-forma financial statements. This research and planning enabled New Hampshire FastRoads to be included in the state's request for broadband funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Broadband Technology Opportunity Program.

The FastRoads' 237-mile regional fiber optic broadband network has been completed.

New Hampshire FastRoads is an open-access, last-mile wholesale provider of a fiber optic broadband network in western New Hampshire. Read more at Tue. May 13 edition. Starting on page 8.
